We don't know where our money is.
Identify where it is and keep track of it online in Real Time.
If someone needs to take money out of an account, a red flag comes up letting us know who is trying to take funds out. They must file a report letting the people know what that money is going to be used for. A history and timeline is created and saved, not only for specific accounts and projects, but individuals as well.
Only certain people have access to city funds, so we as a citizenry, should become familiar with the people distributing our tax dollars.
This would create more transparency and accountability than anytime in the history of modern government.

Ankur, are there any cities that you know that are doing anything similar to this? It would be interesting to see how we could implement something like this and the level of difficulty to get it done.
A similar but simpler idea is to create a daily or weekly total of expenditures submitted by City Council so you can see how they spend our dollars.
